ACP Journal Club

                 

Original, structured reviews of current articles on clinical topics that have been selected from over 100 major journals using evidence-based criteria.  (Available to NOVL users only – log into NOVL and click on OVID, then select ACP Journal Club)

 

BMJ Clinical Evidence

 

Concise reviews of evidence on primary care and hospital medicine topics.  Reviews are based on questions selected for clinical relevance and are organized to present a balance between benefits and harms.  Medical, surgical, nursing, and complementary interventions are covered.  (Available to NOVL users only – to use, sign into NOVL and click on Clinical Evidence)

 

Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials

 

The register is a bibliography of controlled trials identified by contributors to the Cochrane Collaboration and others as part of an international effort.  It includes reports published in conference proceedings and other sources not indexed in MEDLINE or other bibliographic databases.  (Available to NOVL users only – log into NOVL and click on OVID, then select Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials)

 

Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews

 

Systematic reviews of the effects of healthcare, primarily randomized controlled trials, that are developed and regularly updated by members of the Cochrane Collaboration.  (Available to NOVL users only – log into NOVL and click on OVID, then select Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews)

 

Database of Abstracts of Reviews of Effectiveness (DARE)

 

Critical assessments of individual systematic reviews in structured abstract format.  Assessed reviews come from a variety of medical journals and cover topics such as diagnosis, prevention, rehabilitation, screening and treatment.  Produced by the National Health Services’ Centre for Reviews and Dissemination at the University of York (UK).  (Available to NOVL users only – log into NOVL and click on OVID, then select DARE)
